A "prohibited person," in other words--prohibited under federal law from so much as touching a gun, and ineligible under state law to have a Firearm Owners ID (FOID) card, without which he could never legally buy firearms or ammunition, even in a private sale. And yet "his" gun (it was actually reported stolen in Mississippi years ago) was the only one present.That's today's St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner. We will never know if an armed citizen could have saved Ms. Oliver's life, but we certainly know that a great many unarmed ones did not. [More]
