Are they nuts? The dangers of increased mental health scrutiny for gun purchases

Since the accused shooter in Tucson was never ordered by any court to receive mental health care, because of a determination that he posed a danger to himself or others, the NICS system, even "improved," posed no obstacle to his purchase of firearms. So, now we're told that NICS needs to be "improved" again, apparently this time without any court determination of danger. [More]
