'Freedom,' Giuliani style

In case anyone still wonders why I'll never vote for Rudy:

"We look upon authority too often and focus over and over again, for 30 or 40 or 50 years, as if there is something wrong with authority. We see only the oppressive side of authority. Maybe it comes out of our history and our background. What we don't see is that freedom is not a concept in which people can do anything they want, be anything they can be. Freedom is about authority. Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do," - Rudy Giuliani, March 1994.
No matter one's thoughts about "gun control"/gun rights, I don't see how anyone can look at that and not see that Giuliani is a two-bit aspiring Big Brother--one who claims that freedom is about submitting to authority.

I won't vote for that--not to save my life will I vote for that.

He lost me long before I knew he'd said that, but it sums things up nicely if people ask why you won't vote for him. "Well, here's what he said. You decide."

Exactly--one can choose from a very large universe of reasons not to vote for him, but that quote, for me, distills Rudy down to his noxious essence.

"Freedom is about authority."

Yeah, right. And war is peace, ignorance is knowledge, weakness is strength, and all that other Newspeak garbage.

Bull! Stuff it, Rudy! You're just another gun-grabbing tyrant!

exactly the reason I have always called Rudy a fascist. He demonstrated his belief in that position long before he openly stated it.

A nazi by any name, even Republican, is still a nazi. And Rudy is one.

And it matters not to me whether we elect a fascist (Rudy) or a socialist (Hillary), the end result is the same, total prohibition of liberty for the ordinary citizen.

However, it does matter a great deal to me that we elect neither.

Couldn't have said it better myself, SA.

OBTW....Please do not disparage Rudy! After all, this lying, cheating, two-timing,(did I say lying), philanderer is on the gun owners (IIa) side. I can't wait for him to declare every thing beyond a Quackenbush Safety Rifle an assault weapon.

Me again,
My interpretation of limited gun control....If you can't afford to buy it and/or shoot it, you shouldn't have it! eg., Ma Deuce, 105's 155's, etc.
