JPFO Alert: Pulitzer Prize Winning Professor Identifies Militias as "The Enemy Within"

Today's JPFO Alert discusses the highly regarded (in some circles, anyway) professor who has identified America's "enemy within"--us.

And that's another problem for your side, Diamond--the principles on which our republic (as opposed to your "democracy") was founded are indeed worth dying for, in the eyes of many of us, and perhaps an even bigger problem for you, worth killing for. So if you and your "decent Americans" decide to appeal to "authoritarian government" to deal with us, bring it.

And as always, if you haven't seen all the great JPFO Alerts written by David, Nicki, Claire, and Mama Liberty, you owe it to yourself to fix that.

'Distinguished Professor of Politics' accuses NRA of killing cops

Dreier concludes with the assertion that for the killing to stop, the U.S. must "tame" the NRA. Actually, Dreier, if the NRA isn't "tame" enough for you, wait til you get a load of these guys. [More]

JPFO Alert: Secretive "Gun Control" Cabal Threatens Liberty by its Agenda, and by its Methods

Today's JPFO Alert notes that the "American State Legislators for Gun Violence Prevention" would not be hiding their actions--their very identities--for fear of "political backlash," if they did not know that those actions would arouse the wrath of the very people they claim to "serve."

JPFO contributor Claire Wolfe has long argued that, "Secret government is tyrannical government." It's tyrannical, because only government by the people, is not tyrannical. And government is not "by the people" when "the people" are not even allowed to know what their servants in government are doing. ASLGVP's forcible citizen disarmament agenda is an attack on liberty, as are the methods by which they seek to advance that agenda.

Newtown victims' families choose poorly with regard to 'entrusting' guns

In the end, it is difficult to escape the conclusion that Bushmaster's "entrustment" of AR-15s to private citizens enables vastly less carnage than turning them over to governments and their proxies. [More]

JPFO Alert: A Truly Progressive Solution to Cops Shooting Black Men

Today's JPFO Alert notes that although this "progressive" writer might not have entirely thought his theory out, it's better than most "progressive" solutions.

Still, now he's advocating carrying guns to effect positive social and political change. That would indicate that he acknowledges that armed private citizens can push the government in directions that the unarmed cannot. That, in turn, is what the Second Amendment has always been about.

JPFO Alert: "Progressive" Writer Blames Michael Brown Shooting on Inadequate "Gun Control"

Today's JPFO Alert notes that although the slippery slope of "gun control" always remains a threat, for some gun ban zealots, that process is too slow.

No. If the government's hired muscle is shooting too many people, too indiscriminately, the answer is not to voluntarily surrender the means of defending against them. If they are unnecessarily shooting people out of fear, it's well past time for them to stop shooting, out of a much greater fear of the consequences of such shootings. That greater fear can only be imposed by people equipped to make shooting citizens unnecessarily a terminally dangerous activity.

Anything less is surrender.

JPFO Alert: Not All Anti-Gunners Willing to Wait for Slippery Slope

Today's JPFO Alert notes that although the slippery slope of "gun control" always remains a threat, for some gun ban zealots, that process is too slow.

One cannot help but wonder about Ensley's blustering " we'll take them." Does he propose to personally take part in the confiscations, or would his participation be limited to cheerleading from the sidelines. Personally, I strongly suspect the latter.

But I dearly hope I'm wrong. Molon labe, Ensley.

Does Florida outlaw a militia becoming 'well-regulated'?

Prosecutors told jurors that they didn't have to prove a specific plan, just show the group was doing the training for some sort of civil disorder.

And anti-gun groups argue that training for the potential eventuality of fighting against a tyrannical government constitutes that proof. If they have their way, Florida has indeed outlawed effective militia training--outlawed that which is necessary to the security of a free state. Just who are the domestic enemies, again?

JPFO Alert: In Washington and Elsewhere, Defiance is Proper Response to "Gun Control"

Today's JPFO Alert notes that the government simply doesn't have enough enforcers to compel us to submit to "gun control," if we only summon the will to defy it.

The movie "Defiance," about the Bielski brothers' desperate struggle to save themselves and hundreds of other Jews from the Nazis in Belorussia, is, despite its unfortunate choice of Daniel Craig for the leading role, an inspiring movie, with a tagline very applicable to this situation: "Freedom begins with an act of defiance." In Washington and everywhere else under the thumb of onerous "gun control" laws, it's time to get freedom started.

Anti-gun, anti-hunting agendas both depend on lies

JPFO Alert: More Americans Know a Defended Home is a Safer Home; "Gun Control" Advocates Upset

Today's JPFO Alert notes the welcome rise in the number of Americans who realize that defenselessness is dangerous.

The right to own guns is in no way predicated on how popular it is, nor even on how desirable the outcome is. Still, if more and more Americans are realizing that they, and only they, are responsible for their families' security, and know that the best way to provide that security is to have an effective means of stopping those who would do them harm, this is very good news indeed.

JPFO Alert: WA Private Sales Ban Referendum Shows Danger of Putting Rights Up for Vote

Today's JPFO Alert notes that putting fundamental human rights up for vote--even a vote you fully expect to win--is dangerous.

To endorse bestowing on voters the power to vote for fundamental rights, is to lend the veneer of legitimacy to the power of the people to vote against them. With scores of billions of dollars in the hands of people desperate to trample those rights, and with scores of millions of low-information voters prepared to vote for whatever the most prevalent and slickest TV ads tell them to, this experiment with "democracy" may just prove John Adams right.

A little ingenuity renders Colorado 'high capacity' magazine ban toothless

Near the end of the segment (see accompanying video) Maass asks Mauser, who had just expressed his "disgust" at the successful efforts to make "a mockery of" the law (a law very worthy of mockery), "What do you do now?" Mauser sighed mournfully, hung his head, and eventually replied, "That's a good question."

Indeed it is, and its a question that the "gun control" zealots within the Colorado government appear to be utterly unable to answer. [More]

JPFO Alert: Newest "Smart Gun" Concept Probably Most Sensible Yet, Still Poses Threat

Today's JPFO Alert notes a "smart gun" concept that actually has merit--but carries risks of its own.

Still, though, if cops can be forced to adopt this technology, laws mandating it for the rest of us are possible, too, and some will no doubt see that as a brilliant idea, with the government now given the capability of real time tracking of all privately owned guns so equipped. If that becomes law, how much longer would it be before Yardarm is strongly "encouraged" to revive their now scrapped program of implementing a remote "kill switch" for such guns?

The idea is a good one, but this time it would be necessary that the "Only Ones," truly are the "Only Ones" with such equipment.

And as always, if you haven't seen all the great JPFO Alerts written by David, Nicki, Claire, and Mama Liberty, you owe it to yourself to fix that.

JPFO Alert: The "Moderate Gun Control" Group Really Exists!

Today's JPFO Alert finds the elusive "moderate 'gun control'" group.

But on second thought, perhaps such an organization really does exist. There exists, after all, an organization that repeatedly calls for the government to "enforce existing gun laws," and even says that failure to do so is a crime. The same group supported enormously restrictive regulation of fully-automatic firearms, short-barreled rifles and shotguns, and even a safety device (suppressors, routinely, if inaccurately, referred to as "silencers"). The Gun Control Act of 1968 passed with this group's blessing.

Still, by virtue of fighting against bans of so-called "assault weapons," and "high capacity" magazines, for supporting the right to armed self-defense outside the home, and for the right to stand one's ground when violently attacked in a place one has a right to be, for opposing efforts to ban private gun sales, and for opposition to various other of the very worst proposed infringements on that which shall not be infringed, the NRA can plausibly claim not to be among the extremists for "gun control."

Japan stomps on 3-D printed gun maker for rendering 'gun controls toothless'

Japan has for decades imposed iron-fisted controls on not only private possession of guns, but on swords, and even long knives, preserving the "government monopoly on force" so beloved of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. That monopoly is now crumbling. Imura was caught because he made no effort to hide his gun making (and indeed actively publicized it). Others will be more circumspect. And there is very little a government can do about them, in Japan, in the U.S., or anywhere else. [More]

JPFO Alert: Brady Campaign's "Gun Control for Dummies" is Missing a Word

Today's JPFO Alert replies to the Brady Campaign's "Gun Control for Dummies" with a question: is there any other kind?

If "gun control" did not propose to make us safer by hindering our ability to defend ourselves, while simultaneously counting on laws to regulate the behavior of the lawless, it might have more appeal among intelligent people. But that is precisely what it proposes, and intelligent people aren't buying it.

JPFO Alert: Technological Advances Aid Home Gun Manufacture, Bypass "Gun Control"

The gun ban zealots often argue (speciously) that when the Second Amendment was drafted, the Founding Fathers could not have imagined advances in firearms technology. Today's JPFO Alert argues that it's the drafters of restrictive gun laws who fail to anticipate the technology that will render their precious laws irrelevant.

And now, a new Australian company promises to bring 3-D printing of metal objects to the home, starting at under $5,000.

JPFO Alert: New Jersey Considers Mandatory Gun "Buybacks"

Today's JPFO Alert calls the very idea of a "mandatory gun buyback" a lie.

If the government wants to "buy" your guns, tell them the price not in dollars, but in blood--and make it higher than they can afford.

And as always, if you haven't seen all the great JPFO Alerts written by David, Nicki, Claire, and Mama Liberty, you owe it to yourself to fix that.

Defense Distributed's 'Ghost Gunner' brings gun manufacturing to the masses

When millions of Americans, with neither the metalworking and gunsmithing skills to build firearms by hand, or the wealth to buy equipment sufficiently sophisticated (at the prices such equipment commanded until now) to do so through automation, can nevertheless produce effective fighting arms in the privacy of their homes, "universal background check" laws, "prohibited person" laws, "assault weapon" bans, etc. become meaningless. The gun ban zealots' worst nightmare--uncontrollable, utterly anonymous access to so-called "assault weapons" is upon us, spelling the death of the "government monopoly on force" so beloved of the gun ban jihadis.

Police chief sues to overturn will of the voters, make gun rights 'alienable'

One could of course argue that this portion of Amendment 5 would seem to be in direct contradiction of its purported purpose of declaring the right to keep and bear arms "unalienable" (given that it provides explicit language permitting "aliening" the right under certain circumstances)--and indeed one has made precisely that contention. That, however, is clearly not the Post-Dispatch's argument.

JPFO Alert: Congressman Wants to Require Government Permission to Build or Print Guns

Today's JPFO Alert wonders if there is any way to trade in a real clunker of a Honda.

Back in July, Honda introduced H.R. 5344, a bill banning private citizens' purchase of body armor capable of stopping rifle rounds. He wants, in other words, to make gunfire more dangerous, because he believes "public safety" requires that the "authorities" can more easily kill the people. The Violence Policy Center, by the way, is also enthusiastically on board with that bill.

If someone comes up with a practical way of making effective body armor at home, we will undoubtedly see Rep. Honda spring into action again. An aspiring tyrant's work is never done.

Nor, of course, was refusing to move to the back of the bus for the faint of heart (a description never applied to Rosa Parks), or marching into Selma, or, for that matter, defending Lexington and Concord from the red coats. NBC's call to treat home invaders 'like royalty' even worse than first appears

And since "treat them like royalty" clearly means to Zeins and NBC that the home invaders should be given everything they want, one could easily be forgiven for coming to the conclusion that they believe that "royalty" should be treated as superiors. JPFO Alert: Gun Ban Zealots Offer Libertarians Choice: Police State or . . . Police State

Today's JPFO Alert notes the false "choice" offered by the gun ban jihadists.

That sounds rather a lot like extortion, and is also a false choice. The police work for us--they are our employees. We bought the armored vehicles from which they point guns at us, and the grenades they throw at our children. We don't have to sacrifice any of our rights to rein them in--we need only muster the will to tell them that if the job of "protecting and serving" a free people without indulging their Rambo fantasies is too scary for them, they'd best find another line of work.

JPFO Alert: "More Guns, Less Crime" May Be True, But Misses the Point

Today's JPFO Alert urges gun rights advocates to remember that our fight for liberty isn't about numbers.

Gun ban zealots try to bolster their arguments with statistics all the time--to the point of coming up with bogus stats, such as "A gun in the home is 43 times as likely to kill a family member as to be used in self-defense," or that, "Forty percent of gun sales proceed without a background check." They can afford to use numbers (even if they have to make them up), because their agenda is not troubled by collective punishment for individual crimes, or sacrificing the innocent "for the greater good."

We, on the other hand, must remain better than that.

JPFO Alert: David Frum Blames Militarization of Police on Guns in Hands of "the Policed"

Today's JPFO Alert notes that to ostensibly "conservative" David Frum, police state apologist extraordinaire, we the people of a supposedly free country are "the policed."

Actually, I cannot remember seeing any objections to police wearing body armor, and would only harbor such objections myself if efforts to ban possession of body armor by private citizens were to gain ground. More importantly, look at Frum's term for private citizens: "the policed." To Frum's way of thinking, apparently, that is how we the people are to be defined: as those who are kept in line by the government's hired muscle.

'Government monopoly on force,' as demanded by CSGV, on display in Ferguson, MO

You want to know why the Bundy ranch guardians were able to make the government back down, while Ferguson residents remain under the government's jackboots, CSGV? It's because at the Bundy ranch, the government knew that they would not enjoy a "monopoly on force"--that they would pay for their excesses in blood, more of it than they were willing to lose. JPFO Alert: Kodiak Arms "Intelligun" Perhaps Well Intended, But Still Threat to Gun Owners

Today's JPFO Alert notes that although the people behind Kodiak Arms' "Intelligun" appear to have vastly more honorable intentions than other "smart gun" technology manufacturers, they're still making some very disturbing wrong choices.

And why is Gentry, with his vow that his technology will not be used to restrict freedom, more willing to trust the government's hired muscle with guns whose default setting is to fire every time the trigger is pulled, with or without batteries, than he is to trust private citizens with that same vital feature? Why are they the "Only Ones" worthy of that trust?

NRA=Not Really Assertive (once again)

For all my criticism of the NRA, sometimes they really do stand up tall on the right side of an issue. Unfortunately, they tend to be easily talked into pretending they never did. The Mississippi Rebel explains:

The NRA quietly deleted a video discussing gun rights for the blind from its website after facing ridicule from the liberal media.

The video pointed out that the blind should be able to exercise their Second Amendment rights just like everyone else. In it, NRA commentator Dom Raso said: “Every law-abiding blind individual should be able to have whatever guns they want. And if you disagree with that statement or you haven’t thought it all the way through, you don’t take your rights seriously enough.”

The Rebel has more to say on the subject--go see.

Congressman Mike Honda wants to be sure people shot with rifles die

What kind of "encouragement" the cops would offer is left unclear, but judging from the fact that his "solutions" to violent crime all center on a) making certain that cops are better armed and armored than private citizens, b) that there are more cops, and c) that the police have access to records of private purchases of things he doesn't think private citizens should own; it seems unlikely that he would insist that this "encouragement" be particularly gentle.

JPFO Alert: Palmer v. D.C. is Also about Gay Rights

Today's JPFO Alert is a reminder that as a fundamental human right, armed self-defense is for everyone, and everyone who fights for it deserves our support and respect.

But it is they, the "progressives," who hope to keep these most vulnerable members of society disarmed and defenseless. It is they who claim that the best protection for such people is "hate crime" laws, making it "more illegaller" to commit heinous violence against someone if the assailant was motivated by hate for a group his victim is a part of, rather than anything about the victim himself.

Tom Palmer is fighting for everyone's Constitutionally guaranteed, fundamental human right of the individual to keep and bear arms. That makes him a far better man than any who oppose his efforts.

Today's JPFO Alert notes more large-caliber lies from Media Matters.

Johnson should probably be more careful about whom he chooses to accuse of lying, but I have no real objection to him describing .50 caliber rifles as "weapons of war." Pratt's position on 2nd Amd and politicians' fear is only morally defensible one

Gun rights advocates, in our abhorrence for unnecessary violence, fervently hope power hungry officials' fear of the armed citizenry makes that violence unnecessary. Why do those who claim to be motivated by a desire to end "gun violence" wish for deterrence to fail, and for violence to thus become the only alternative to abject submission to tyranny? [More]

JPFO Alert: Bloomberg's Self-Defense Catch-22 is an Old Trick in "Gun Control" Playbook

Today's JPFO Alert notes that Bloomberg's latest anti-self-defense ranting might be a new low, but it's also an old gambit.

Not a bad strategy, really--push laws to try to make guns as useless as possible, then justify further infringements by arguing that guns are already so useless that the new restrictions don't really affect us much. Just one more reason we must fight them at every step.

And as always, if you haven't seen all the great JPFO Alerts written by David, Nicki, Claire, and Mama Liberty, you owe it to yourself to fix that.

ATF's notional resource shortfall raises new questions about 'Project Gunwalker'

Well, in fairness, the only "investigation" they had in mind for the "gunwalked" guns was not particularly resource intensive--noting where the crime scenes and dead bodies were. Still, for those of us who cannot be quite convinced that senior Justice Department officials were really stupid enough to apply the "Underpants Gnomes'" business strategy to their own efforts to curb international gun trafficking, and must therefore have had some other motive, the fact that they supposedly lacked the resources to investigate problematic gun sales that were already happening makes the official explanation of Operation Fast and Furious just that much less convincing. Are gun owners so naïve as to buy Christie's recent 'pro-gun' conversion?

Christie is clearly banking on the hope that gun owners are dumb enough to be fooled by his nominally "pro-gun" actions of late, and it appears, inexplicably, that his bet might actually pay off. If gun owners allow him to win the Republican presidential primary, they will get what they deserve. Unforgivably, though, the rest of us will get what they deserve, as well. [More]

JPFO Alert: Self-defense, or Defense Against Tyranny--Does it Really Matter?

Today's JPFO Alert argues that in some ways, it hardly matters whether the Second Amendment was intended solely a the final bulwark against government tyranny, rather than also protecting the people's means to self-defense against common criminals. The difference, after all, between a rights-violating government, and freelance dirtbags, is merely one of scale.

We are the militia, necessary to the security of a free state. Any violence against us, even individually, rather than against the people in general, and by freelance criminals, rather than agents of the government, is therefore nonetheless an attack on that which is necessary to secure our free state. We thus have not only the right, but the patriotic duty to defend ourselves against such violence. Anyone who attempts to undermine that right and duty has allied himself with brutal thugs, in and out of government, and has declared himself an enemy of the American people.

And as always, if you haven't seen all the great JPFO Alerts written by David, Nicki, Claire, and Mama Liberty, you owe it to yourself to fix that.

JPFO Alert: Trampling 2nd Amendment Not Enough for Gun Ban Zealots

Today's JPFO Alert notes that the First Amendment is becoming almost as much a target for the gun ban zealots as the Second has always been.

And then remember that the Obama administration has asserted (and indeed exercised) the "right" to use armed drones to assassinate suspected "terrorists," without regard to their American citizenship. Rabidly anti-gun 'Mike the Gun Guy' wants to empower doctors to disarm patients

Weisser is hopeful, though. Now that the Obama administration has unilaterally authorized the federal government to once again engage in anti-gun junk "science," maybe more doctors will be emboldened to do their part for forcible citizen disarmament.

Doctors are supposedly guided by the fundamental principle, "First, do no harm." How would they reconcile that noble principle with the practice of stripping the most vulnerable people of their ability to defend themselves in a dangerous world? [More]

JPFO Alert: Author Claims Democrat "Gun Control" Timidity Undermines Constitution

Today's JPFO Alert notes that one "gun control" zealot advocates measures that would start a civil war, apparently without realizing it. Meanwhile, another one does realize that, but doesn't have a problem with it.

Perlstein exhibits a fundamental misunderstanding of the situation. "Gun nuts" (that's you, me, and everyone else who will fight to keep the palladium of liberty) will not be pacified by more aggressive forcible citizen disarmament efforts.

Such efforts will indeed be the most efficient way of forcing today's cultural cold war to go hot. Presumably, that's not what he wants.

Interestingly, Susie Madrak, writing for "Crooks and Liars" (which sounds like a good place for her), does seem to see the civil war implications of Perlstein's position--and seems to think he's onto something anyway . . .

Al Jazeera tells hunters not to fight for gun rights

From the above mentioned attempts to define "armor-piercing" ammunition in such a way as to net all centerfire rifle ammunition, to the Violence Policy Center's efforts to have accurate bolt-action rifles banned as "sniper rifles," to the International Action Network on Small Arms' (IANSA) call for a ban of all rifles that can kill at 100 meters (all rifles, in other words), hunting guns may be toward the end of the list of gun ban zealots' ambitions, but they are on it, and if we gun rights advocates have been taken out of the picture, who will speak for you, hunters?. Judge acknowledges Second Amendment has nothing to do with hunting

The intent here is not to antagonize hunters, or to be anything less than welcoming to their participation in the fight for gun rights. The point is that we are continually told that banning so-called "assault weapons," or .50 caliber rifles, or "high capacity" (gun ban jihadist-speak for "standard capacity") magazines is perfectly legitimate, because "no one needs those for hunting."

Any restriction on guns, ammunition and accessories justified by their failure to meet the government's idea of "sporting purposes" is very clearly a violation of the rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment, as the court ruling in Pennsylvania helps illustrate. [More]

St. Louis police chief, others sue to make Missourians' gun rights 'alieanable'

The right to keep and bear arms is fundamental, under the constitutions of both Missouri and the United States, and laws that restrict it must be required to withstand the very strictest of scrutiny. When Chief Dotson and the rest claim that voters lack the wit to realize that "unalienable" implies just that, they inexcusably insult Missourians' intellect. And if Judge Beetem decides to invalidate votes cast by voters to whom the state did not first spoon-feed a state-written "SJR 36 for Dummies" explanation of the amendment, he will have committed an unforgivable atrocity against those voters, and indeed against the entire state. Glaze's confession will not slow anti-gunners' exploitation of mass shootings

The "gun control" movement requires mass shootings--horrifying, indescribably evil slaughter of innocents, just to gain any public support. When those shootings occur, there is a "playbook" instructing the gun ban lobby on how to exploit them. When asked about the chances of new infringements on that which shall not be infringed, the gun ban jihadists say it depends on how effectively they exploit--their word--the blood of the innocent victims.

Glaze--no longer on the payroll of an organization hoping to make the most of such exploitation--could afford his brief moment of honesty. The anti-gun groups, though, cannot. The lie is all they have. [More]

And now we know what she means by "more thoughtful conversation" about guns. JPFO Alert: Supreme Court Ruling is About Registration, not Crime Control

Today's JPFO Alert notes that Justice Kagan admits that the most important aspect of any gun sale is that the federal government knows who has the gun.

In 2012, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives added a new question to ATF Form 4473--the form that must be filled out when purchasing a firearm, and the form on which Abramski admittedly lied. Now, every gun purchaser must answer whether or not he or she is of "Hispanic or Latino" ethnicity. As attorney and firearms law expert Evan Nappen notes, there is no real difference between that question, and a demand--backed up by federal law, and enforced with the full power of the U.S. government--that the purchaser answer whether he or she is a "Jew or Not a Jew."

And now, the Supreme Court has ruled that this is just fine.

And as always, if you haven't seen all the great JPFO Alerts written by David, Nicki, and Claire, you owe it to yourself to fix that.

VPC no longer trying to hide yearning for ban of all semi-automatics

The campaign to outlaw all semi-automatic firearms is gaining new adherents every day. When those are banned, count on bolt-action rifles to be demonized as "sniper rifles, with no place in civilized society." They want us disarmed. Every gun in private hands is "too deadly," for us mere citizens to own, and if they have their way, the government's hired muscle, armed with just the kinds of guns we cannot be trusted with, will come to take them from us, and kill us if we resist.

'Progressive' gun rights foe announces plan to foment 'gun violence'

At least we now have a pretty good idea as to why Malloy is so insistent on restrictive gun laws. You can't just dismiss the Constitutionally guaranteed, fundamental human right of the individual to keep and bear arms because you're tired of hearing about it, any more than someone who demands you justify the societal benefits of your blog, or he'll ban it, can dismiss your First Amendment rights, because he "so got that there's a right to" free speech, and doesn't want to hear about it.

Of course the best "solution" to sexual violence is that those who perpetrate it stop. Unfortunately, that will not happen until someone stops them, and that will not happen without force. Columnist compares open carry activists to child rapist/murderers

The far-left Daily Kos, astonishingly (or perhaps not), has taken the silly meme of "firearms as substitute for inadequate sexual anatomy" even further than Marcotte did, to the bizarre extreme of repeatedly referring to semi-automatic rifles as "giant metal death penises," indicating an astounding--and rather alarming--level of ignorance of the purpose of both firearms and penises.

JPFO Alert: SWAT Team Baby Burning -- More Police Militarization?

Today's JPFO Alert notes that the government's "War on Babies" puts it on the wrong side of a great many armed parents.

There cannot fail to be consequences from the discovery on the part of every parent in America that the government's hired muscle can kick down their doors, set their children on fire, and the official response will be a shrug, and maybe an "oops."

Inevitably, some parents will refuse to tolerate the intolerable. Some, even knowing the vanishingly small likelihood of their own survival, will fight back with every weapon they possess. Private citizens defending their homes and families will doubtless do the bulk of the dying, but they will not do all of it.

JPFO Alert: "Gun Control" Agenda Requires Heinous "Gun Violence"

The gun prohibitionist lobby calls us "violent," but it's not our agenda that requires the slaughter of innocents.

Speaking of their desire to disarm people, that of course serves their purpose in more than one way. Not only is citizen disarmament their desired end, it's also a means to that end, because the more "gun free" zones, there are, the fewer people permitted the means to effective self-defense, and the more they can be limited in whatever firepower they are permitted to have, the less likely it is that the next killer will be stopped before he racks up a big, exploitable body count.

Just the kinds of "horrific crimes" forcible citizen disarmament advocates are taught to "seize opportunistically on." Just what they're waiting for. Just what they need.

JPFO Alert: Brady Campaign "Smart Gun" Lawsuit Illustrates Their Yearning to Mandate Them

Today's JPFO Alert looks at just how ineffably eager the Brady Campaign is to outlaw self-defense.

But never mind that. Consider instead that the Brady Campaign wants for the only handgun available to New Jersey residents to be chambered in the woefully inadequate for self-defense .22 caliber. They want to force them to spend $1400 on the gun, and another $400 on the required "magic wristwatch"-- a poll tax on self-defense. They want New Jersey residents' lives to depend on keeping fresh batteries in the watch and gun, be certain to keep the watch within 10 inches of the gun (tricky, if one has to switch hands, while using the off-hand to fend off an attacker) -- and to enter a PIN number before the gun can be fired. And with all that, the gun can still be expected to fail once over the course of firing a ten-round magazine.
