Easing back into things, with an exciting announcement that's probably not news to anyone here

I've kinda developed a bad habit of burning out on blogging for weeks at a time, without warning or explanation. I really need to stop doing that. If I still have any readers, I apologize.

Anyway, I'm feeling motivated to write again, but after a month of being out of touch, I'm going to set the bar for myself kinda low, and instead of trying to come up with any deep insights, point to an exciting new development relating to one of my (many) betters (a much better, in fact).

Back in October, I mentioned that David Codrea (War on Guns) had a new gig (yet another one--this is a guy who knows how to work through the kind of burnout that shuts me down so often). I refer to the Cleveland Gun Rights Examiner column.

The exciting news is that the Cleveland Gun Rights Examiner column will soon be known as simply the Gun Rights Examiner--it's going national.

Coming in early January, the "Cleveland" is going away.

The column has done well both regionally and in the "Politics" category. So the powers that be have decided they'll be better served if it goes national--meaning it will now show up on the national page as well as be accessible from 59 separate city pages.
This is big news, folks. This is one of the best gun bloggers (and I would make the case for dropping the "one of the") gaining a national audience that's not limited to the gun blogosphere.

Congratulations, David, and go get 'em.

Welcome back...Missed your Blogs. I kept looking to see if you had posted anything new. So you have not lost me as a reader. I do understand being burnt out on blogging.

Thanks, Opaww.

I don't really understand why I burn out like that--it's not as if I'm one of the really hard-working bloggers, even when I'm active.

Anyway, thanks for sticking around.

I get burnt out real easy now days myself. It is not just the blog nor the web pages but everything that hits us at the same time. Like what we read from others, lack of money to do something with, our daly boring things we face every dam day, but one good thing was when the now ex-wife finialy left... thank the GODs

Thanks for the kind words and the plug.

I'm fortunate in that I don't know what it's like to not have something to write about.

I was actually just getting ready to email you. Do us a favor--? When you decide to go on hiatus, at least hang up a "Gone Fishin'" sign letting us know you haven't been dragged off to the gulag...

I just got ahold of Straightarrow and asked if he was OK--they had some stuff to deal with but he's still kickin'.

We don't hear from you guys and we start to worry...

Yeah--I need to get in the habit of doing at least that. The thing is, whenever I go on these hiatuses (hiati?), I always think I'll jump back in the next day, thus making an announcement of a break kind of superfluous--but I suppose I should know better by now.

I hadn't known SA was keeping a low profile, too--you mean both of us crotchety old guys were shut down at the same time?

Hope to hear from him soon.

+1 on what David said.

Burnout happens. Good to have you back.

yeah, what they all said.

The constant relentless negativity and opposition to freedom that is the modern media is rather brutal.

Good to see you back.
