It seems fairly clear that CSU's new policy will be unable to carry a legal penalty for violations, but I am much less clear on whether or not the school could impose its own disciplinary actions, up to and including expulsion.Today's St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner. Hope it's worth your time.
Still, it is good to see that the fight against mandated defenselessness is not yet over. [More]

I fully expect the school will still punish those who carry.
Here in DE CCW on college campuses is legal but it's against school policy. Hell, you could even OC lawfully, though I imagine the response would be both extreme and unpleasant.
Hmm.... I wonder.
The Supreme Court in Heller declared right to keep and bear arms a FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT, which is a term of art raising it to the level of Free Speech, Assembly, Right to trial by jury.
If the carry is lawful, is it lawful for the university to punish you by regulation for excercising your FUNDAMENTAL right in a lawful manner?
The University cannot penalize you for excercising your Free Speech rights in a lawful manner.
Likely this issue will need to be litigated, but the University has a fair chance of losing. Of course, as a public institution, their lawyers are paid with tax money, not out of the pockets of the administrators who are doing this.
Wish they would wise up and allow upstanding citizens to defend themselves, rather than attempting to be a "defence-less victim" zone.
Just an update for you Kurt , It looks like legislative action may be in the offing as well http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_13964832
