California legislator wants to ban popular firearm accessory, and discussion

The chilling part, though, is the next sentence. Yee would apparently allow "no debate, no discussion" about effective militia capable arms for Californians. If he feels so free to trample the first two amendments of the Bill of Rights, can his attacks on the other eight be far behind? [More]

Obama administration should advise 'Snuffy' Pfleger, too

Chicago's Father Michael "Snuffy" Pfleger--so named for his threat to "snuff out" gun dealers and legislators opposed to making Illinois gun laws even more draconian than they already are--has a long history of preaching very specific, partisan political advocacy (a history that repeats itelf), and has so far seemed immune to the tax consequences one might expect. 'Onion' article not funny, and misses point--NO number of dead warrants gun laws

Furthermore, the denial of such a monopoly is the last line of defense against genocide. So here's an idea for a funny article, Onion: write about CSGV executive director Josh Horwitz telling how many millions of government-disarmed citizens murdered by their governments--how many scores of millions; hundreds of millions--it would take for CSGV to drop their demand for a genocide-enabling "government monopoly on force."

Sounds like a real knee-slapper, doesn't it? [More]

GOP 'leadership' apparently proving Holder's 'nation of cowards' charge

If there is any truth to the claim that GOP leadership is reluctant to aggressively pursue justice for this abomination, because doing so would appear "racist," then racial cowardice will have triumphed over decency. Ironically, setting lower standards of behavior (or no standards, perhaps) "on the first black attorney general, who is serving under the first black president," because they are black, would itself define racial discrimination. Stealth 'gun control' threatens Illinois

In other words, Illinoisans are apparently expected to accept the notion that unless the state and federal governments can agree on how to ensure that we the people are adequately "gun controlled," the people's right to buy firearms will be suspended. [More]

Mayors Against Illegal Guns sells tyranny to city taxpayers

And now we know that the taxpayers of at least 10 cities are being forced to subsidize that sick agenda. As National Gun Rights Examiner David Codrea puts it, "How unsurprising of hive insect queen Bloomberg to rely on the Chicom final insult of charging for the executioner's bullet."

That is an insult that cannot be borne by a free people. [More]

Tucson shooting survivor plays political games with 'Project Gunwalker'

In wrestling away Loughner's spare magazine, thus preventing him from reloading, Maisch's courage and quick action almost certainly saved lives, perhaps a great many of them. For that, Maisch deserves every word of praise she has gotten. Even such heroism, though, does not excuse her efforts to assist in the administration's bid to escape accountability for the evil of "Project Gunwalker," especially when her motivation, like the administration's, is more draconian "gun control." Forget 'gun control'; CSGV represents 'genocide enablement lobby'

Keep in mind, by the way, that CSGV would have us take the government's word on whether or not it was complying with the Constitution. In other words, according to CSGV, there can never be any justification for armed resistance, as long as the government makes a token effort to toss a flimsy veneer of Constitutional legitimacy over its excesses.

An American Holocaust would have to be allowed to proceed unopposed (except by "peaceful methods"), unless the government admitted that it had tossed the Constitution in the White House fireplace. [More]

Is the right to keep and bear arms fundamental and universal, or not?

The problem is that Mr. Huitron-Guizar is not only to be punished for his illegal presence in the U.S., but also for the "crime" of possessing the tools to defend his life--something we have been claiming is a fundamental human right. If deportation is not punishment enough, then immigration laws should be strengthened to include their own additional punishment. By instead tacking on extra punishment for the exercise of a fundamental human right, we treat that right like a mere privilege.

Opposition to that is not being "soft on illegal immigration"--it's being hard on forcible citizen disarmament. [More]

Fight over multiple rifle purchase reporting requirement heating up

In other words, the Obama administration's actions used to justify the reporting requirement have already led to the deaths of hundreds of Mexican citizens and two U.S. federal law enforcement officers (CSGV's denials notwithstanding)--they're clearly not going to give it up without a fight. [More]

Democrat activist wants 'more invasive' regulation of guns, speech

No, Mr. Way, freedom loving Americans don't think that the Constitutional guarantee of the fundamental human rights to speak freely and to keep and bear arms came about simply because the Founding Fathers lacked the imagination to predict the march of technology. [More]

CSGV believes 'gunwalked' guns are only guns NOT being used for violence

When it suits CSGV's pupose (as it generally does), every privately owned gun, and especially every so-called "assault weapon," is mass mayhem waiting to happen. Furthermore, CSGV is an enthusiastic cheerleader for "terrorist watch list" gun bans, whereby the mere claimed suspicion by the Attorney General of a citizen's "terrorist" intentions would be enough to cancel his gun rights. Now, though, with the Obama regime having trafficked thousands of the very same firearms CSGV most demonizes, to the most brutal killers in the hemisphere, and with those guns having shown up at hundreds of murder scenes across Mexico, Ladd Everitt demands "proof." Ostensibly 'pro-gun' Romney seeks endorsement of rabid gun-grabber Bloomberg

Would Romney be receptive to some or all of Bloomberg's proposals? Who knows? Certainly not the version of Romney vying for the Republican nomination, as he touts his "severely conservative" credentials. But what if at some point he sees an advantage in "shaking the Etch-a-Sketch," and going back to being the Romney who proudly announced that, "I don't line up with the NRA," as he signed draconian new gun legislation? When evil is armored: Armor-piercing ammo bans kill

Since most of us, thankfully, do not share Chief Beck's sociopathy, a better solution is clearly needed. The obvious candidate for that better solution is lifting the ban on armor piercing ammunition (called "cop killer" bullets, by the forcible citizen disarmament lobby) for private citizens. [More]

Obama administration wants easier route to export guns

The intent here is not to argue that it's necessarily wrong to simplify the Byzantine and arbitrary restrictions on gun exports. Consider who is asking for this simplification, though. The Obama administration has used government approved gun exports--both legal (approved by the State Department, and compliant with all export laws) and very illegal--to justify more oppressive regulation of the U.S. civilian gun market. And now the administration wants to simplify the process. [More]

Gun makers abide by California's 'assault weapon' ban, get demonized for it

That's what happens when citizens scramble to obey injust, arbitrary laws--the media shrieks about a mythical "loophole" that must be closed, and special interest groups claim that companies are endangering the public for profit. If that's the reward for obeying the law, massive non-compliance is sounding better and better, as some historical figures would doubtless agree. [More]
