Hillary Clinton wants to 'rein in' gun culture that is 'way out of balance'

Come to think of it, if we are to blame "gun violence" on a culture, perhaps the most logical target would be the culture of overarching nanny-state government futilely attempting to impose responsibility, instead of staying out of the way of the people's exercise of it. [More]

That's today's St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner. Please give it a look, and tell a friend--and Facebook "likes" and "shares" are hugely appreciated.

Hillary is seeking her party's nomination, and is playing to its hard core base. In the general election, she will try to appear more moderate. ("I'm not trying to confiscate your deer rifle or skeet shotgun, just those evil military-type assault weapons with shoulder things that go up.") Then she may end up having to explain why she was for total gun prohibition before she was against it.

Uh...who says that "anyone can have a gun, anywhere, anytime"? It's already illegal for criminals and psychotics to own guns. There are already "gun-free zones" (schools, military bases) where it's illegal to carry a weapons. (BTW, every mass shooting spree in the past fifty years took place in a "gun-free zone."

If we need to "rein in" anything, it's the thug culture that glorifies unprovoked violence, and a legal system in which violent criminals and psychotics have more rights than honest, peaceable citizens. Sociopaths and psychotics should be locked up in prisons or secure mental hospitals. They should not be wandering around loose, and we do not have an obligation to turn the entire country into a padded room to accommodate them.
