Not really gun rights commentary--I just thought this was funny.

Soliz said.Nothing wrong with that, I guess--"take care of your rifle, and it will take care of you," and all that. Oddly, though, the article didn't mention anything about the officers being trained in using the rifles.
Perhaps I should have titled this post "Cleanliness is next to 'Only Oneness.'"

nobody needs assault weapons. their only purpose is to kill as many people as possible in a short amount of time. Spray and pray will just kill a lot of innocent people.

Well it's different, obviously, when the "assault weapon" is "'Only One' Clean"--don't you know anything, SA?
If the dept. paid only $1,000 per rifle, they didn't get "assault rifles" - foreign battleground weapons - they got semi-autos. Sounds like another case of an ignorant news reporter trying to describe something that he/she has no knowledge of.
ok by me WWW, if it is an assault rifle when I carry it, and it is according to the "newsies", it shouldn't all of a sudden become a "patrol" rifle when a cop does.
I agree with you that what they got was AR15's and not M16's which the article made clear. However every politician and media type call them "assault weapons" at every opportunity and us it for excuses to infringe my rights. So now I want an explanation of why the police want to kill as many people as possible in a short amount of time and why they have official support for such.
