This ignores the fact that Holder is himself a prime suspect of serious criminal wrongdoing, and any worthwhile investigation of the scandal would have to take a very close look at his possible culpability. Holder, in ordering an investigation by the Inspector General, who works under and answers to him, has in a very real sense offered to reassure the nation by undertaking to investigate himself--and apparently Obama and many other Democrats think we should be satisfied with that.
