Michael Bannerman (AKA 'Laci the Dog') doesn't want arresting people to require any broken laws

Earlier this week, I wrote about the "Wiki Gun" project, headed by a young man named Cody Wilson, to develop a design for a handgun to be made in its entirety by a 3-D printer, and to then make that design available, free of charge, to anyone with internet access. It's an ambitious project, and not all of the difficulties are mechanical in nature (the makers of the high-end 3-D printer revoked the lease without warning when they became aware of the nature of the project).

Yesterday, the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence noted this development on their Facebook page. This is not the first time CSGV has been disturbed by this impending death of "gun control"--an earlier article of mine prompted this anguished bleating on CSGV's Facebook page (check out the comments, too--they're hilarious):

The latest in gun nuttery: Insurrectionists threatening to make AK-47s out of printers if new gun laws enacted.
They also mentioned it on Twitter.

The latest comment replying to yesterday's CSGV Facebook post is especially interesting:

Michael Bannerman: He should be arrested for doing this.
If the name "Michael Bannerman" sounds familiar, there is a good reason for that. Bannerman is the real name of the rabidly, virulently, anti-guns, anti-rights, subhuman sack of vileness who more often writes under the name of his hideous, mangy, rodent-like "dog," to whom he refers as "Laci the Dog."

I've talked about this little parasite a couple times before. Nowadays, he doesn't seem to be currently active on any blogs of his own, but often spews his intellectually and morally bankrupt verbal pollution at "Mikeb302000"--just the place for such sewage.

Now he is advocating the arrest of a man against whom there is exactly ZERO evidence of any crimes (oh, and did I mention that Bannerman is a lawyer?). Pretty much par for the course, I suppose.

If people like that ever acquire any power, we're going to have to get our hands very bloody. I'm ready.

Update: CSGV is now worried enough about Cody Wilson (the "Wiki Weapon" visionary) to have hung the dreaded "insurrectionist" label on him (and again, check out the comments--they're precious). In fact, he has even made their silly "Insurrectionism Timeline":

I like this guy better and better all the time.

St. Louis police chief wants federal gun laws to control local crime

Obviously, no matter what the answers to these questions are (and holding one's breath waiting for those answers from Isom is probably a bad idea), we will still not even have touched an explanation of how to reconcile such laws with shall not be infringed, or why every peaceable gun owner in the U.S. should suffer more oppressive gun regulation because of the crimes of St. Louis thugs.

Isom has been an enemy of gun rights his entire tenure in St. Louis, and apparently plans to end that tenure with no change to that status. And now, he will be teaching that anti-rights attitude to criminology students. [More]

VA Tech professor touts radical new advance in weapons technology

She must know something about some imminent advance in weaponry, because obviously she cannot be contending that weapons themselves are obsolete. As long as the strong continue to prey on the weak, the large on the small, the numerous on the few, weapons, with their ability to make predation even by the strong risky, will be necessary.

On a larger scale, as long as people are organized under governments, people must have the power to destroy those governments and their hired muscle, when those governments seek to abuse their power. In other words, weapons are unlikely ever to become obsolete. [More]

An arms factory in every home: Gun control fights against its inevitable demise

That, though, is largely beside the point. The Wiki Gun project is more a proof of concept than an attempt to produce practical firearms right now. This is something we have discussed before, and will be the death of "gun control." The "government monopoly on force" so beloved of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence is becoming idle fantasy.

Not a moment too soon. [More]

Administration's 'Gunwalking' facilitated bloodiest massacres in Mexico

The massacres of young people could be said to have in a way been the point of "Project Gunwalker"--provoking visceral outrage over the appalling waste of innocent life, in order to engender public support for stricter gun regulation. It is well past time for Americans--and Mexicans--to punish those responsible for this abomination--this human sacrifice in service of a political goal (and an evil, unconstitutional, freedom crushing, genocide enabling goal at that). "No blood for 'gun control.'" [More]

The government's war at home

Taken separately, each of these developments is more than a little ominous. Taken together, the conclusion that the government is preparing for war against the people becomes difficult to escape (particularly when looked at alongside the government's apparent hostility to the Oath Keepers). In light of that, it would seem that the people would be well advised to step up our own preparations. As Mike Vanderboegh often asks, "Got militia?" [More]

Communists for 'gun control'

Those who dub themselves "progressive" cannot tolerate a society in which the people have the power, or even the desire, to defend themselves and their interests, rather than rely on the government to do it.

A disarmed citizenry is a helpless citizenry. That is precisely the kind of citizenry that collectivists want, and precisely the kind that "gun control" groups want. And oops--the previous sentence looks like another redundancy. [More]

Help put out the fire

Late to the party, as usual, I should long ago have added my voice to those of numerous other gun bloggers calling for support for a new documentary--"Assaulted: Civil Rights Under Fire."

When the subject of California’s gun control laws are discussed, rarely are they associated with the civil rights movement and the quest for equal rights for all. This film will compare the historical aspects of gun control targeting the indigenous tribes of North America and emancipated slaves through the Jim Crow era to today’s laws that favor elitists and denies the rights guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment to the most vulnerable in our society. The film takes a critical look at the original intent of the current California guns laws in contrast with crime and murder statistics before and since their implementation; and compares these laws to those of the adjacent states. Story threads also look at the myriad of concealed carry permitting processes across the state to illustrate that not all residents are treated equal.
Please help out any way you can--and soon.

'An Act of Bravery': Otis McDonald biography now available

McDonald took on the most oppressive forcible citizen disarmament laws in the country, which Chicago's mayor at the time defended with millions of Chicago taxpayers' dollars--and won. This quiet man could no longer stay quiet in the face of the denial of his Constitutionally guaranteed, fundamental human right of the individual to keep and bear arms. He could no longer meekly submit to laws that denied his right to defend his life and loved ones. [More]

Gun ownership, and even militia membership, becoming more popular, diverse

The Brady Campaign's Dennis "What People?" Henigan has complained in the past about media coverage of the militia movement that fails to portray those involved as racist terrorists. The fact that the Herald-Tribune refuses to paint them in that light, and that the same militia will soon be featured in programs on both MTV and National Geographic, will undoubtedly make him even more unhappy.

The Brady Campaign, VPC, CSGV and the Southern Poverty Law Center would all prefer that the public share their fear and loathing of militias. The question to ask them, perhaps, is if militias are "necessary to the security of a free state," then who are the "traitors" to America--the militia members, or those who oppose them? [More]

Obama straight up lies to Hispanic voters about 'Project Gunwalker'

What excuse for this lie will be offered in Obama's defense? Will it be claimed that it was just a "mistake"--that he still has not learned enough about the "Gunwalker" atrocity to have even figured out when it started (since presumably, even his most desperate defenders will not try to claim he forgot when his administration began)? If so, would Hispanic voters not be justified in asking how a president could be so callously indifferent about establishing the facts about a U.S. federal government operation that resulted in hundreds of dead Mexican citizens, and will undoubtedly continue to cause more deaths (on both sides of the border--and even farther abroad) for years to come?

Could Hispanic voters further be forgiven for wondering why an administration that sent thousands of the firearms Obama most wants banned as being "too dangerous" for private citizens, to brutal killers in Mexico, won't let Latinos have forks in Obama's presence? You can bet that there will be no "Project Forkwalker" under this administration. [More]

St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner once again honored by CSGV

That's objectionable?

Only to those who believe that governments should get a free pass to commit evil with impunity. Those would be the same folks who clamor for a "government monopoly on force."

There is as much nobility in being despised by the despicable, as in being admired by the admirable. The contempt and loathing of those who advocate forcible citizen disarmament is thus a great honor indeed. Thank you, CSGV. [More]

OIG 'Gunwalker' report does not 'exonerate' Holder, but is still whitewash

Remember also that, although the IG investigation covered only the DoJ, there were at least two other Cabinet-level departments involved in Operation Fast and Furious (Department of Homeland Security and Treasury, and it is difficult to imagine the State Department being left completely in the dark). IG Horowitz explained today that his investigation sought a voluntary interview with a DHS agent, but could not compel the agent to speak, because being outside the DoJ, the agent had the right to refuse--a right he exercised.

Somehow, then, we are expected to believe that this multiple Cabinet level department operation was going on without the head of the most central department knowing about it. [More]

Josh Horwitz laughably accuses gun rights advocates of disregarding Constitution

According to Horwitz, in order to have "faith" in the Constitution, one must believe that a power hungry government can be thwarted in its desires to usurp the power of the people, simply because words on parchment say that it must not. That is, obviously, a ludicrous notion. The Constitution itself protects nothing, unless it is enforced.

The enforcers must be the people--us--and enforcement may require something stronger than harsh language. The Founders knew this--knew that, as Edward R. Murrow said, "A nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves." A disarmed citizenry--a citizenry that allows itself to be disarmed--is indeed "a nation of sheep." That is what CSGV would have us be. [More]

Obama administration colludes with Media Matters to bury 'Gunwalker' scandal

As has been observed previously, MM is well compensated for its rabidly pro-administration, anti-gun positions (by the same virulently anti-gun foundation on whose board Obama served for eight years), although that apparently hasn't stopped MM founder David Brock from making his own, sometimes illegal, armed security arrangements.

For "the most transparent administration ever," this one certainly likes to maintain tight control over what is said about it. [More]

Gun 'buy backs,' and using the enemies' own resources against them

Still, though, that does not mean that resourceful gun rights advocates cannot use these "buy backs" to come out ahead. A central Illinois gun rights group, Guns Save Life (sometimes called the Champaign County Rifle Association) has perfected this strategy (for years, and years), collecting junk guns, selling them to the "buy back," and using the proceeds to fund such worthy gun rights advocacy efforts as youth shooting camps (building the next generation of gun rights advocates).

. . .

It must take a lot of the fun out of working for the suppression of the Constitutionally guaranteed, fundamental human right of the individual to keep and bear arms. [More]

Why we need 'high capacity' magazines: Because there are more than 10 Democrats

As has been pointed out elsewhere, party platforms fall far short of telling the whole story, because they are not binding on any individual politician within the party. Still, they do give a sense of the position that the party leadership would like to take the party. Viewed in that light, it becomes obvious that the Democrats want guns regulated to a draconian degree this country has never seen.

They must be stopped. By whatever means necessary. [More]

Gun haters in Congress try to ban ammo sales; government buys milions of rounds

Lautenberg and McCarthy have their priorities exactly backward. It is none of the government's business how much ammunition a free citizen buys, and it is very much the business of the public to know how much, of what kind, and for what purpose is the government buying ammunition. [More]

Please welcome to the arms room: The .50 BMG magazine-fed AR-15 'pistol'

I've finally reached the point that a so-called "assault weapon" chambered for merely the .50 Beowulf isn't enough for me (although I am of course keeping it, and the 6.5mm Grendel). I needed the real .50 caliber--the one that terrifies the cud-chewers (and certain domestic enemies). Gotta have the .50 BMG.

I'm blaming David Codrea for inspiring me on this. It was from him that I found out that the BATFE was planning to designate .50 BMG upper receivers for AR-15s as "firearms," subject to all the restrictions applied to other firearms.

That was one year ago today, and as often happens when new gun restrictions are being discussed, I was inspired to get the very thing that was to be restricted. The BATFE has not, to this point, moved to implement such a policy, perhaps due in part to the attention David's warning brought to it.

And David certainly cannot be stuck with all the blame. The fact that California democrats Senator Dianne Feinstein and Representative Henry Waxman are both desperately frightened of the .50 BMG's ability to defeat the armor of a politician's limousine, even at long ranges, makes the acquisition of such an arm quite tempting all by itself. As I said before:

The common theme here is that Feinstein, Waxman and others seem to have identified .50 caliber rifles as a personal threat to their own lives.

This is a good thing. Those who take it upon themselves to write the laws by which the rest of us must live should fear the wrath of the people they seek to govern. For the nation to be truly free, those who seek to exceed the limits on their power imposed by the Constitution must be made to live in mortal terror of the consequences.

But what made the idea of getting a .50 BMG AR-15 upper receiver utterly irresistible for me was finding out that there is a way to do it in such a way that the finished gun is a magazine-fed repeater. And as of today, I have what has to be one of the only repeating .50 BMG "pistols" in the world.
Actually, I was tempted to post the following pics, instead, and see how many cud-chewing, bed-wetting ignoramuses I could send into a panic when they saw it had two magazines, including a 90-round snail drum, despite the fact that the 90-rounder would of course not serve any functional purpose:
Yesterday, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn hijacked a perfectly good bill, passed by an overwhelming bipartisan majority, and turned it into a bill to ban, among other things, guns just like that one. Perhaps he is getting nervous about the limitations of his limousine's armor.

Good.

Governor Quinn violates U.S. and Illinois constitutions simultaneously

The new law would be confiscatory, in that even owners of banned items owned before the ban would have to surrender them if they could not prove having owned them previously. Quinn even has the gall to claim to be "a strong supporter of the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution– the right to bear arms." His idea of a joke, perhaps.

But trampling the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution is not enough for Quinn, because using (abusing) the amendatory veto process in this manner is itself a violation of the Illinois constitution, as Charles N. Wheeler III explains in Illinois Issues . . . [More]
