ICHV opposes the Constitution

It is of course no surprise that the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence (ICHV) has issues with the Second Amendment, but I didn't expect them to publicly state their opposition to the entire U.S. system of government. That, however, is exactly what they did here, in questioning our Constitutional separation of powers, as laid out in our three branch system of government (specifically, the vital role of the judiciary).

Like many, we believe that the United States has the best judicial system in the world. But to think that five people can overturn a policy supported by hundreds of thousands in the D.C. area and every member of the City Council -- well, that decision needs to be questioned. With all due respect, the fact that five people have this opinion does not mean it is something we should accept.
Yep--you read that correctly--if the Supreme Court protects the rights of 49% of the populace, in disregard of the 51% that wants to trample those rights, we need to fundamentally alter the Constitution and the structure of our government.

Never mind that the lifetime terms of Supreme Court Justices is intended specifically to insulate them from the necessity of securing their positions by appealing to the will of mob rule, thus freeing them to protect the rights of minorities--this decision protected the "wrong right."

By the way; " . . . the fact that five people have this opinion does not mean it is something we should accept"? Well, what are you going to do--rebel (with your "Army of the Voluntarily Disarmed")?

And these tyranny enablers call us "extremists." At least when we talk about insurrection, we talk about maintaining the means for insurrection.

Superman have you noticed that the ICHV gives a link directly to " The Gun Guys" ? I guess thinly veiled birds of a feather hang together......

I hadn't noticed that, but I'm not surprised--they both get their funding from the Joyce Foundation.

Anon:

It's well established that the majority of anti-gun sites and groups are directly run and/or Brady Campaign.

Georgia Packing has put together an excellent list:

Translation- WE WANT THE TYRANNY OF THE MINORITY! "extra specialness" for a few lunatics who live in a drug induced fantasy land.

Are there any that aren't funded by Joyce / Brady Campaign?

They could have just said:
"Just because these half-retarded gun nuts abided by the law of the land and accepted that the Supreme Court had ruled against them for 70 years doesn't mean we should have to do the same thing!"

It's the bleating of sheep.

Any time I hear a group spouting something along the lines of "keeping the public safe" or "think of the children!", it raises a red flag - these are people who don't trust anyone but themselves and The Government to make decisions that have an impact on their [pathetic little] lives.

Regard everything they do with suspicion.

I was at the ICHV NIU sponsored anti gun rally this spring in Naiperville. 185 people was the rooms seating capacity according to the NIU buildings security team, ( I asked on my way out). There was 160 Gun owners and perhaps 10 of them might have been against.

I think the ICHV web is very misleading on the phrases / terms / impressions making it appear to be a large organization. I suspect it's organization consists of a very small handful of people.

That know how to make a very professional looking website. At Naiperville there was the priest, the VT witness, Nina and the guy that runs ICLV. There was only one older woman openly talking to Nina before the meeting and she looked like an old Trophy wife with a lot of extra miles on her.
Any suspicions as to the size of ICHV?

Illinois Voter, I'm pretty sure that the Naperville event was sponsored by ICPGV, rather than ICHV (easy to get 'em mixed up).

Actually, I don't think membership in any of the forcible citizen disarmament groups is very large--there just aren't a lot of people willing to put in the time and effort for advocacy of the denial of rights. That's why they have no grassroots presence to speak of, and it's why we'll eventually win.
