California AB 962: Much more than ammo?

That is taken directly from the text of the legislation--I omitted subsection (b) for the sake of brevity--and seems to indicate that magazines (whether "high capacity," or not), revolver speedloaders, unloaded bullets (not whole cartridges--just the projectiles themselves), etc., will fall under the scope of this insane law.

I don't claim to be proficient enough in legalese to be sure that this law will do what I think it does, but if so, the only possible intent of this is to find a way to end, for all practical purposes, possession and use of firearms, without an outright ban--thus nullifying the "victory" of Heller. That's today's St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner. Thanks, Thirdpower.

Some of those "allowable, reasonable" restrictions per Heller?

Those are the ones, SA. Don't get upset--they're just to keep our families safe, don't you know?

We've been busy guarding the doors, and now the antis are coming in the window.

Adjust point of aim & proceed accordingly.

Law dosn't take effect until 2011
By then it should be repealed. If not think of the Black Market possibilities.

None of the pro-gun guys seem to be willing to admit the law will also do what it says, make it harder for criminals and gang members to get ammo. All you guys talk about is the terrible inconvenience and how unfair it is to infringe on your rights like that.

I say it's time you guys step up to the plate and take some responsibility. Loose gun laws are the problem and this law tightens the up a bit.

Here--let me fix that for you: "Freedom is the problem, and this law tramples it considerably."

By the way, how much enforcement of this little experiment in tyranny do you think the failed state of California will be able to afford, Mikeb?

As for "tak[ing] some responsibility," show me for what I am responsible (and show me how I'm responsible for it)), and I will do so.

One more thing:

All you guys talk about is the terrible inconvenience . . .

Actually, "inconvenience" is your word for the potentially fatal deprivation of lifesaving firepower--I tend to be much less glib about state-mandated, mikeb-sanctioned human sacrifice.
